Getting Started

Yellows Page is a comprehensive business directory platform that connects customers with verified local businesses, while providing business owners with powerful tools to manage leads, reviews, and their online presence.

Customers can search for businesses by category and location, view profiles, and contact them. Business owners can create listings, manage their profiles, and track performance through subscriptions.

Anyone can use Yellows Page! It is built for general consumers looking for services, and for business owners looking to list and promote their companies.

No, you can search and view business listings without an account. However, creating an account allows you to save businesses, write reviews, and track your enquiries.

Click the "Login / Register" button in the top navigation, select the "Register" tab, and fill out your details. You can register as a Customer or a Business Owner.

Click "Login / Register" in the top header, enter your registered email and password, and click "Login".

Click on the "Logout" button in the top navigation menu or in your dashboard sidebar.

On the login page, click "Forgot Password". Enter your email address to receive a password reset link.

You gain access to a personal dashboard where you can manage your saved businesses, track your enquiries, write and edit reviews, and update your profile.

A customer account is for finding and interacting with businesses. A business owner account includes a specialized dashboard to add listings, manage subscriptions, track leads, and view revenue/performance.

When registering, select the "Business Owner" role. If you already have a customer account, you can contact admin to upgrade your role.

Once logged in, click the "Dashboard" link in the top navigation header. It will automatically route you to the correct dashboard based on your role.

Website / Public Website

Use the search bar on the homepage or click "Businesses" in the navigation to search by keywords, categories, and location.

You can browse categories directly from the homepage category grid, or use the "Categories" dropdown in the main navigation menu.

When you select a main category, the system will display related subcategories. You can click on any subcategory to filter the businesses further.

Use the location selector in the top navigation to set your active city, or use the location filter on the search page.

The platform uses your selected city to filter all business listings. The active city is displayed in the header with a location pin icon.

Click on the city name in the header. A dropdown will appear allowing you to select a different city or "View All Locations".

Click on any business card from the search results or homepage to open their detailed profile page.

A business page shows their logo, images, contact details, address, map location, business hours, description, and customer reviews.

On the business profile, click the "Call Now" button. On mobile devices, this will directly open your phone dialer.

Click the "Website" link or icon on the business profile page to open their external website in a new tab.

You can use the "Send Enquiry" form on their profile, click "Call Now", or use the "WhatsApp" button.

Click the "WhatsApp" button on the business listing. This will open WhatsApp Web or the app with a pre-filled message to the business owner.

Click the heart icon on a business card or profile. You must be logged in to save businesses. They will appear in your "Saved Businesses" dashboard.

Click the "Share" button on the business profile. You can copy the link or share it directly to social media platforms.

Scroll down on any business profile to see their rating and all approved customer reviews.

The overall star rating is displayed near the top of the business profile and on their search card. It is an average of all approved reviews.

Verified businesses display a blue checkmark badge. You can also use the "Verified Only" filter on the search page.

On the search page, you can use the sidebar to filter businesses by Category, Subcategory, Location, and Verification status.

Use the "Sort By" dropdown on the search page to order results by Newest, Oldest, Highest Rated, or Most Viewed.

Use the pagination controls at the bottom of the search results to view the next page of businesses.

Customer Dashboard

The customer dashboard is your personal control panel where you can manage your profile, saved businesses, reviews, and messages.

It shows a summary of your activity, quick links to your recent enquiries, saved businesses count, and your profile completion status.

It is a progress bar that shows how much of your profile information is filled out. A complete profile helps businesses serve you better.

Click on "Edit Profile" and fill in any missing details like your phone number, address, and profile picture.

Customer Account & Profile

Navigate to "Profile" in your dashboard sidebar, make your changes, and click "Save Changes".

In the "Profile" section, click on your current avatar or the upload button, select an image from your device, and save.

Yes, you can edit your mobile number in the Profile settings page.

Yes, if you have a company name field in your profile, it can be updated via the Profile settings.

Your email address is used for login. Changing it may require admin assistance depending on the system configuration.

Go to "Settings" or "Change Password" in your dashboard, enter your current password, and type a new secure password.

Categories & Subcategories

A broad classification of businesses (e.g., Real Estate, Healthcare, Education).

A specific niche within a category (e.g., Dentists inside Healthcare).

It is required to organize the directory and ensure customers can find you when browsing specific services.

Clicking a category on the search page hides all businesses that do not belong to that category.

It further narrows down the list to only businesses matching that highly specific niche.

Categories are centrally managed by the Super Admin to maintain a clean, organized platform.

No, but you can contact support to request a new category if yours is missing.

Only the Super Admin or authorized Admin personnel.

Through the Admin Dashboard > Categories section, where they can add, edit, or disable them.

As grid cards on the homepage, dropdowns in the search bar, and filters on the search page.

Location & Cities

The website filters results globally based on the city selected in the top header.

It is your active browsing location, meaning you will only see businesses operating in that city.

During the "Add Business" process, the owner selects the city from the authoritative list.

When adding a business, you first pick a State, which dynamically loads the relevant cities.

An AJAX request fetches the active cities belonging to that state from the Admin database.

To prevent spelling errors and duplicates, ensuring the search filters work flawlessly for customers.

It queries the database to only return businesses where the city ID matches the selected city ID.

The map plots businesses using their exact Latitude and Longitude coordinates.

Customers in your actual area will not find you, and you will appear in searches for the wrong city. You can edit this in your dashboard.

Business Owner Dashboard

It is a specialized control panel where business owners can add listings, manage subscriptions, view leads, and track analytics.

Log in with a Business Owner account and click "Dashboard".

It is a section listing all the business profiles you have created on the platform.

Click the "Post Business" button in the header or "Add Business" from your dashboard sidebar.

Go to "My Businesses", find the listing, and click the "Edit" button.

In "My Businesses", click the delete or deactivate icon next to the listing. Deactivating hides it from the public.

You can manage as many businesses as your subscription plan allows.

All your businesses are listed in "My Businesses". Analytics and enquiries can be filtered by specific businesses.

The status (Active, Pending, Rejected, Expired) is displayed next to each listing in "My Businesses".

A "Verified" badge or text will appear next to your business name if it has been verified by the Admin.

Add Your Business

Click "Post Business" or go to "Add Business" in your dashboard, and fill out the multi-step form.

Business Name, Category, Description, Location/City, and at least one contact method (Phone/Email).

Choose the category that best fits your primary business operation from the dropdown list.

After selecting a main category, the relevant subcategories will populate in the next dropdown.

It determines where your business appears in search results and category browsing, directly affecting your visibility.

Fill in the text fields for Name, Tagline, and Description in the "Basic Info" step of the form.

In the contact step, enter your Phone number, Email, and Website.

Enter the full URL (including https://) in the Website field.

Enter your WhatsApp number including the country code in the designated WhatsApp field.

Use the timing selectors to set the opening and closing times for each day of the week.

In the Media step, use the file uploader to select and upload photos of your business/products.

Upload a square image using the specific "Logo" upload field.

Write a detailed overview of your services in the Rich Text description box.

Select your State and City, enter your full address, and drop a pin on the map.

Currently, Yellows Page operates primarily in India. The country is pre-selected.

Choose your State from the primary location dropdown.

After selecting a State, choose your City from the dynamically loaded dropdown.

Type your 6-digit postal code into the Pincode field.

Type your complete street address into the Address text area.

Provide a nearby recognizable landmark in the Landmark field to help customers find you.

These coordinates pinpoint your exact global location for the map display.

Drag the red marker on the interactive map to your exact building location.

It uses Google Maps/Leaflet to automatically generate Latitude/Longitude when you move the pin or search an address.

It allows users to find you via "Near Me" searches and provides accurate driving directions.

Some forms offer a "Preview" button before final submission to see how the public will view it.

Click the final "Submit Business" button at the end of the multi-step form.

Your business enters a "Pending" state while Admin reviews it for quality. Once approved, it goes live.

Business Performance

Performance is an analytics page showing how many views, clicks, and leads your business has generated.

You can see Total Views, Search Impressions, Lead Count, and Enquiry Statistics over various time periods.

A view is counted every time a user opens your detailed business profile page.

An enquiry is counted when a user successfully submits the contact form on your profile.

Leads are counted when users interact with your contact buttons (Call, WhatsApp, Website) or submit enquiries.

Visit the "Performance" or "Analytics" tab in your Business Owner dashboard.

Leads

Leads are potential customers who have shown direct interest in your business by contacting you.

Through profile contact forms, direct calls from mobile devices, and WhatsApp button clicks.

Navigate to the "Leads" section in your Business Owner dashboard.

You can reply to them via the Message Center, or use the phone/email provided in the lead details.

You can update the status of a lead (e.g., New, Contacted, Converted) using the dropdown in the lead details.

Depending on your plan, you may have limits on how many leads you can view, or require an active plan to access lead contact details.

Enquiries

The Message Center allows you to communicate directly with business owners in real-time.

My Enquiries tracks all the contact forms and messages you have sent to businesses through the platform.

Use the Enquiry form on their profile or start a Live Chat if they are online.

Submitting an enquiry automatically starts a conversation thread with the business owner.

Go to "Message Center" or "My Enquiries" in your dashboard to view active threads.

Use the search bar in the Message Center to find chats by business name or message content.

Open the conversation in the Message Center and type your reply in the chat box.

You will see a notification badge in your dashboard and receive an email notification.

Live Chat / Messages

Live Chat acts like a messaging app right inside your dashboard, allowing instant back-and-forth communication.

The message appears in your Message Center thread, and you receive a notification alert.

Reviews & Ratings

My Reviews is a section in your dashboard where you can see all the reviews you have submitted for businesses.

Go to a business profile, scroll to the Reviews section, and fill out the "Write a Review" form. You must be logged in.

When writing a review, click on the stars (1 to 5) to set your rating.

To ensure high quality, reviews may require Admin approval before appearing publicly on the business profile.

Admins review pending submissions regularly. It usually takes 24-48 hours for a review to be approved.

Yes, you can edit your review from the "My Reviews" section in your dashboard.

Yes, you can delete your review from the "My Reviews" section by clicking the delete/trash icon.

Other users can mark your review as "Helpful". This count shows how many people found your review useful.

Navigate to "My Reviews" in your dashboard sidebar.

Use the status filter (Pending, Approved, Rejected) in the My Reviews page.

If available, you can use the "Export" button on the My Reviews page to download them as a CSV or Excel file.

Go to the "Reviews" section in the Business Owner dashboard to see all reviews left on your listings.

Click the "Reply" button next to a review to post a public response from the business owner.

Your average rating is displayed on your dashboard summary and the Reviews page.

It goes to Admin for approval. Once approved, it appears on your profile and you receive a notification.

Saved Businesses

These are businesses you have bookmarked for quick access later by clicking the heart icon.

Click the heart icon on any business card or profile page while logged in.

Click the heart icon again to unsave it, or remove it directly from the "Saved Businesses" section in your dashboard.

Go to your Dashboard and click on "Saved Businesses" in the sidebar menu.

Use the search bar provided inside the "Saved Businesses" dashboard page to find a specific saved listing.

You can filter your saved businesses by category or location using the provided dropdowns on that page.

Click the "Call" button directly on the business card within your Saved Businesses list.

Click on the name or image of the business to open its full profile page.

Click the share icon on the saved business card to get a shareable link.

Notifications

Notifications alert you about important events like new messages, review approvals, or account changes.

Click the bell icon in the top header or visit the "Notifications" page in your dashboard.

You can receive alerts for new messages, review statuses, subscription updates, and administrative announcements.

A notification will pop up in your dashboard and an email will be sent to your registered address.

You will receive a notification when your review is approved, rejected, or replied to by a business.

Major account changes (like password updates or profile edits) trigger a security notification.

Subscription Plans

We offer 3 Months (₹6,000 + GST), 6 Months (₹10,000 + GST), and 12 Months (₹15,000 + GST) plans.

Full access to business listing features, lead management, and performance tracking for 3 months.

All features with a discounted rate for committing to 6 months of visibility.

Our best value plan offering uninterrupted visibility and full dashboard features for a whole year.

An 18% GST is automatically calculated and added to the base price of the plan.

3 Months = ₹7,080. 6 Months = ₹11,800. 12 Months = ₹17,700.

Go to "Subscription" in your dashboard, select a plan, choose a payment method, and complete the checkout.

Before expiry, click "Renew" in your subscription dashboard to purchase another term.

You can purchase a higher-tier plan, and the validity will be added or prorated depending on admin policy.

From the date the Admin approves your payment until exactly 3, 6, or 12 months later.

Your business listing may be hidden from public search, and premium dashboard features will be locked until you renew.

Your listing goes live to the public, and all dashboard locks are removed immediately.

The system checks your active subscription status. If expired, sections like "Leads" and "Performance" will show a lock screen.

Full access to Enquiries, Lead details, Performance Analytics, and the ability to reply to reviews.

Your subscription remains inactive/expired. You will need to submit a valid payment and UTR.

Your dashboard remains locked while waiting for Admin to verify your submitted UTR/Proof.

Flexible Monthly Payments

A feature allowing you to pay for your long-term subscription in smaller monthly installments.

Yes, if you select the Flexible Monthly option during checkout.

The Total Amount (including GST) is divided equally by the number of months in the plan.

GST is calculated on the total plan base price, and the final grand total is split into the monthly payments.

It is the Base Price + 18% GST (e.g., 3 Months = 6000 + 1080 = 7080).

This is the specific installment amount due today (e.g., ₹2,360 for the 3-month plan).

The total subscription amount minus all APPROVED payments.

The total months in the plan minus the number of successful payments made.

The balance updates ONLY after Admin manually verifies and Approves your payment request.

Exactly when the Admin clicks "Approve" in the Revenue Management dashboard.

NO. Submitting a UTR only notifies the Admin. Your subscription is activated only after Admin approval.

Your status changes to "Pending Verification". The Admin reviews the UTR against bank records.

The Super Admin or authorized Finance Admin.

When the Admin successfully matches your UTR/Transaction ID with their bank statement.

It opens a secure payment gateway popup where you can complete the transaction online instantly.

A QR code is displayed. You scan it with PhonePe, GPay, or Paytm, and then manually submit the UTR number.

Our bank details are displayed. You do an NEFT/IMPS transfer and submit the Transaction ID.

It is displayed on the checkout page when you select "UPI" as your payment method.

Open any UPI app on your phone, tap the scanner icon, and point it at the QR on the screen.

Unique Transaction Reference. It is a 12-digit number provided by your bank/UPI app after a successful transfer.

Similar to UTR, it is the unique reference number for a bank transfer.

Enter the 12-digit number in the provided input box on the checkout success page and click submit.

The system creates a "Pending Verification" request for the Admin to review.

Yes, the system allows you to upload a screenshot of your successful payment screen.

You will see a "Payment Request Successfully Sent" message on your screen.

Your subscription status will change to Active, features will unlock, and you will get a notification.

Your dashboard will display a rejected status, and you may be prompted to upload a valid UTR.

Revenue / Admin Payment Management

The Admin module dedicated to tracking all incoming payments, subscriptions, and financial analytics.

Select "Pending", "Success", or "Rejected" from the Status filter.

Type a UTR number, email, or name into the search bar to instantly find a specific payment.

Click the "Approve" button next to a Pending transaction in the list.

Click the "Reject" button. You can optionally provide a reason.

Approving a pending payment automatically activates the user's subscription.

You can manually edit a user's subscription status in the Subscriptions or Users menu.

The payment amount is immediately added to Today's, This Month, and Total revenue counters.

It calculates dynamically based on the approval timestamps of successful transactions.

It is the aggregate sum of all transactions with a status of "Success".

A screenshot of the successful bank transfer or UPI payment uploaded by the business owner.

It helps Admin quickly verify the transaction without solely relying on the UTR number.

It is securely stored in the server uploads directory.

Click the "View Proof" or "Eye" icon next to a transaction in the Admin Revenue dashboard.

Click the "Download" icon. It forces the browser to save the image to your computer.

Admin must manually cross-check the provided UTR number with their bank statement.

The proof usually visually contains the UTR, confirming the user actually made the transfer.

Yes, if they can verify the UTR in their bank account, the uploaded image is not strictly required.

Admin Dashboard

The central command center where platform owners control everything: users, businesses, payments, and settings.

Businesses, Users, Subscriptions, Revenue, Locations, Categories, Reports, and System Settings.

Use the "Businesses" menu to View, Verify, Edit, or Delete listings submitted by business owners.

Navigate to the Categories menu to add new categories, assign icons, or disable unused ones.

When editing a main category, you can add or manage its associated subcategories.

Go to the Locations > Cities menu to add new cities and link them to respective states.

Use the Locations menu to maintain a clean database of States, Cities, and Areas.

In the Subscriptions menu, you can alter pricing, duration, and feature limits of the plans.

The Users menu allows you to view all registered customers and owners, reset passwords, or ban accounts.

Business Owners are a specific role in the Users menu. You can upgrade a customer to an owner here.

The Revenue Management module lists all transactions, allowing you to approve or reject pending UTRs.

Through detailed Analytics and the Transactions List in the Revenue dashboard.

The Reports module offers downloadable Excel/PDF reports for Businesses, Revenue, and Users.

The main Admin dashboard features charts showing traffic, revenue trends, and user growth.

If enabled, use the Ads or Featured section to pin specific businesses to the top of search results.

The Global Settings menu controls site name, logos, SEO meta tags, and contact details.

Use the Security Alerts / Audit Log to monitor logins, role changes, and system errors.

The Notifications config allows you to set up SMTP for emails and manage system alerts.

Categories Management

Go to Categories, click "Add New", enter the name, choose an icon, and hit save.

Click the "Edit" button next to a category to change its name, slug, or icon.

Toggle the status switch to "Off". This hides it from the public website.

Click on a main category to view, add, or edit its child subcategories.

Active categories appear in the header dropdowns, homepage grid, and search filters.

They populate the Main Category dropdown in the Business Owner form.

As clickable filter checkboxes in the left sidebar.

All public and owner forms query the exact same Admin database table in real-time.

Cities & Locations Management

Via the Locations > States menu, where they can add or disable specific Indian states.

Via Locations > Cities. Every city must be mapped to a parent State.

Via Locations > Areas, mapping specific postal areas to parent Cities.

Using a relational database design where the City row contains the State ID.

When a State is selected, an AJAX call fetches only the cities linked to that State ID.

The header city selector sets a session variable matching the City ID from this Admin database.

If Admin disables a city, it disappears from the Business Owner dropdowns immediately.

Business Verification

A process where Admin confirms a business is legitimate before it appears publicly.

It prevents spam, fake listings, and builds trust with customers using Yellows Page.

Review the business details in the Admin panel and click the "Verify" or "Approve" button.

It is hidden from public search results and the owner cannot fully utilize dashboard features.

It goes live on the public website and gets a Verified Checkmark badge.

It remains hidden and the business owner is notified to correct their details.

A distinct blue checkmark icon appears next to the business name.

A customer search filter that hides all non-verified businesses from the results.

Reports & Analytics

Visual charts and graphs in the Admin Dashboard showing platform performance.

Security

Through secure password hashing (Bcrypt), session management, and role-based access control.

Use a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. Never reuse passwords.

The system may temporarily lock the account to prevent brute-force attacks.

In your Profile > Settings area, provide your old password and enter a new one.

Change your password immediately and contact Admin support.

The system checks your role (Customer, Business, Admin) before loading any page. If unauthorized, it blocks access.

Access limited to public searching, saving businesses, and managing personal reviews/enquiries.

Access to the Business Dashboard, allowing listing management and lead tracking.

Full access to the Super Admin panel to manage all data, users, and revenue.

Security middleware intercepts the request. A customer cannot open Admin URLs; they receive a 403 Forbidden error.

Technical Troubleshooting

Possible reason: The page or business was deleted or the URL is wrong. What to check: Verify the URL. Automatically: The system shows a "Page Not Found" screen. Contact support if a main menu link causes this.

Possible reason: You do not have the correct role (e.g., a customer trying to open the Admin panel). What to check: Ensure you are logged into the correct account. Contact support if you believe your role is wrong.

Possible reason: A form submission failed validation (e.g., missing required fields). What to check: Look for red error text below the form inputs. Fix the errors and resubmit.

Possible reason: Required fields are empty or JavaScript is disabled. What to check: Ensure all fields with an asterisk (*) are filled. Automatically: The browser should highlight the missing field.

Possible reason: The UTR entered does not match Admin bank records. What to check: Ensure you typed the 12-digit UTR perfectly. Contact support with a screenshot of your bank statement.

Possible reason: Network disconnect or session expiry. What to check: Refresh the page and ensure you are still logged in. Try submitting again.

Possible reason: Admin has not approved the payment yet. What to check: Look at the payment status; if it says "Pending", you just need to wait.

Possible reason: Balances only update after Admin approval, not immediately upon UTR submission. What to check: Wait for Admin verification.

Possible reason: Your subscription expired or your monthly payment is overdue. What to check: Visit the Subscription page to renew or pay the balance.

Possible reason: The file was too large or unsupported during upload. What to check: Try re-uploading the image ensuring it is a JPG/PNG under 2MB.

Possible reason: Ad-blockers or slow network. What to check: Disable ad-blockers and refresh the page. Automatically: The system will try to reload it.

Possible reason: A severe server error (500). What to check: Try again in 5 minutes. Contact support immediately if it persists.

Possible reason: Outdated browser cache. What to check: Press Ctrl+F5 (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) to hard refresh the page.

Possible reason: The table data is too large or network is slow. What to check: Wait a few seconds for the AJAX request to finish.

Possible reason: Network connection drop. What to check: Check your internet connection and refresh the page.

Possible reason: You haven't selected a State first. What to check: Select a State from the primary dropdown to load the cities.
